Ski Patrol Rescue Team (SPART)


SPART Members Doug Burchard, Randy Riggs, Sumi Lavin, Isaac Ginsberg, and Frank Rossi taught classroom sessions for a NSP Avalanche Level 1 course. King County is hosting the 2015 Washington State Search and Rescue Conference. KCSARA, including SPART members, is busy planning for the conference. In the mean time, check out for more information!

SPART Members, including Dick Willy, Barbara Leirson, Andee Vaughan, and Matt Kurjanowicz, helped teach and run the first biannual KCSARA Training Academy on April 5th and 6th, 2014. The academy reached over 200 volunteers with KCSARA, helped grade over 1,000 tests, and spread vital knowledge about KCSARA training. Thank you all!

Registration for the Spring 2014 KCSARA Academy is now open. Details are in the attached flyer and the class schedule is attached. Please let know if you or anyone you know can help with logistics, administration, or instruction at the academy. SPART members attended and had a blast at the KCSARA Winter Social on 1/26/2014. KCSARA moved the social from a summer-time activity to a winter-time activity to get it out of peak mission season. Thank you to everyone for organizing the event!
