Registration is now open for the 2014 Washington State Search and Rescue Conference, held in nearby Pierce County. See for more information. FAQ Q: Are courses at the Washington State SAR Conference Core Compliant? A: We don’t know yet. Deputy Christian is currently evaluating.

SPART members provide National Ski Patrol Avalanche 1 and 2 courses for the area Ski Patrols and Search and Rescue units. SPART members also provide training in the National Ski Patrol’s Mountain Travel and Rescue curriculum.

SPART members organize and volunteer to provide boots-on-the-ground medical care at Seattle’s annual Seafair weekend.  Volunteers patrol the lakefront area to provide first-aid care to those in need.

SPART members, partnering with the US Forest Service, the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center, and the Cascade Backcountry Ski Patrol, have placed signs at popular winter trail heads.  These signs aim to educate the public about the dangers of traveling in snowy terrain.
